Book Party Checklist

 

  1. Determine the date, time and location of the event as well as the number of books you intend to realistically sell.
  2. Have ETS ship the specified number of books (allow 2 weeks for shipping) in increments of 30 per box. – Books are $16.99 each – no tax if outside the state of Tennessee. Within Tennessee, a 9.25% sales tax will have to be added (I can provide that spreadsheet for ease).
  3. Have ETS design an Evite for your event and send the Evite approximately 2-3 weeks prior to the event. Then, send a reminder a few days before. (Try to get as many rsvps as possible, and if you want, you could email your friends to ask how many they think they will purchase in order to get a close approximate of how many you will sell).
  4. Only checks or cash are able to be accepted at the event. Checks are to be made payable to ETS Publishing. If credit card purchases are needed, then they can purchase in advance online (Ask me how to bypass shipping).
  5. What you will need at each event: Books, cash for change, pens for checks, a sheet for names and number of books bought (provided, in case checks are lost in the mail, etc.) and a calculator just in case (though I will provide spreadsheets of how much any number of books is with or without tax). Depending on what type of event you have, food and/or beverages, etc. will be up to the host/hostess and will not be able to be reimbursed by ETS Publishing.
  6. At the event, please remember that you are our marketing associate! I have had many children, and their parents, tell me that Thisbe’s Promise is their favorite book. I know from personal experience that it really is up to the parent what their children love to read, based on how you read it to them. Remember, this is not a sad book! I wrote this book to encourage Thisbe to get better. The sadness is not in the book – it is in our lives. For the sake of Thisbe’s book, please don’t confuse the two! If you can make it even one child’s favorite, then I am forever indebted to you.
  7. After the event, please send checks to the following address: 9341 Clovercroft Road, Franklin, TN  37067 (it would be great if you could convert the cash to a check for us). Once we deposit the checks, we will send you a check for 25%/$4.25 for each book sold.
  8. If you have books left over, you can decide whether or not to sell the remainder or ship them back. Please let us know if you will need to ship them back, and we will determine the best way depending on how many books there are. Also, it will allow us to reimburse you for return shipping (so please send the receipt).
